Blue Cheese Dip

Easy & Delicious Homemade Blue Cheese Dip Recipe!

Homemade Blue Cheese Dip is quick and easy! Simply mix up a few ingredients and you have a perfect dipping sauce!

I am a huge fan of blue cheese dip, but the store-bought options never have enough blue cheese for my tastes. About half of this recipe is blue cheese crumbles, so it’s absolutely packed with cheesy goodness! I love the way this dip tastes with anything buffalo flavored, but it’s equally amazing with some cut vegetables. If I have leftovers, I will usually thin it out with just a little extra lemon juice or even just water and use it as a salad dressing.

Ingredients for Homemade Blue Cheese Dip

  • Sour Cream: Sour cream adds a bit of tartness to the blue cheese dipping sauce.
  • Mayonnaise: Mayonnaise makes this blue cheese dip extra creamy.
  • Lemon Juice: Lemon juice adds a little extra acid to balance out all the creaminess.
  • Blue Cheese Crumbles: The key to the dip! I use a lot of crumbles because I like my blue cheese dip extra chunky, yum!
  • Kosher Salt & Freshley Ground Pepper: Simple seasonings round out the flavors.

How to make Homemade Blue Cheese Dip

  1. Stir together the sour cream, mayonnaise, and lemon juice until the dip is smooth.
  2. Gently stir the blue cheese crumbles into the dip.
  3. Season to taste with salt and pepper. I use about 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper, but your sour cream, mayonnaise, and blue cheese may have different salt profiles than the mine, so make sure to taste your homemade blue cheese dip and adjust the salt to your preference.
